Liam wasn’t supposed to be my happily ever after.
He wasn’t even on my radar.
He was my husband’s best friend—forbidden.
But my husband is dead and I’m alone. I ache for him and I reach for Liam.
One night with Liam changed everything. Now I have to decide if I truly love him or if he’s just the consolation prize.

I'm going to start out with all the positive things to this story. I struggled with writing this review because I didn't know how to put it into words. First the sorrow I felt for Natalie was unreal. I couldn't imagine losing your husband like this and starting over. But we meet Liam who is honestly such a wonderful man the way he is with her daughter is breathtaking. They struggle with their feelings for awhile and fight against what everyone knows is coming. They finally start spending time together and decide they can do this. It doesn't mean it's easy by any means Liam feels as if he lives in the shadow of a ghost. Can Natalie love me the way she loves Aaron. He struggled alot with this but later we learn different things that was not always seen by everyone else and now Natalie can fully understand that something she thought she had was not as perfect as it looked. So she is still sad and haunted by the choices Aaron made. But he's gone and Liam is here so she's grabbing what she has to hold on to. But she struggles with the loss of another man could she do it again after going through it this time. And then at the end is a cliffhanger I didn't understand the direction she was going in with this ending. OK so on one hand I loved the connection between Natalie and Liam but I felt the story had to much going on. To me she could have done this book in one story. Again this book is really a beautiful story but just to much going on for me. I will continue with the next book because I want to know how this plays out even though I think its predictable. But you will love Natalie and Liam there connection was beautiful the struggles with them accepting that it was OK to move forward with each other was my favorite parts of the book. Also how much Liam loved her daughter it melted my heart. I was given this Arc for an honest review from Night and day book blog
