“You tired?” he asks.
It doesn’t hit me until he mentions being tired on how exhausted I actually am.
Tonight’s been stressful, and I’m sure, if I allow myself to close my eyes for even the briefest time, I’d fall asleep on the spot.

OMG OMG OMG OMFG.... if I could give this 5 million stars I would.. this book was beyond amazing.. I totally didn't think I could Love X more then I did in book 1 but Oh WOW... Xavier Cold picks up where Phenomenal X ended.. X just got arrested after he beat the ever loving SHIT out of Rex... Michelle takes you on a absolutely amazing ride.. The love and heartache that Anna and Xavier face.. Xavier has not had the best upbringings.. he has been scared and truly believes that he dose not deserve the love Anna has for him. He has been thru so much.. so when he and Anna make it back to each other he is bound and determined to let NO ONE stand in his way! Anna is his angel, the light to his dark.. Anna is his one true thing.. she has a way of getting him to understand that the world and everyone in it is not all bad.. there are good people out there.. you just have to believe in your self.. This series is amazing. If you want a bada$$ wrestler that loves with his whole heart but thinks that he is undeserving to receive that kind of love back then you MUST meet Xavier. This is the second book in the Hard Knocks series and I have to say that it is just as good as the first. Come to think of it, I don't think that I have read anything by Michelle A. Valentine that I didn't like. She is a Phenomenal author. This book starts off where Phenomenal X left off. Xavier just finished beating the crap out of Rex the Assassin for running his mouth that X just couldn't hold back. This book will take your through the next couple of months of the life X's life. He will continue to remind himself that he does not deserve Anna's love, people from his past will come back to see him, and a shocking discovery will be told at the end that you won't expect. You will go on a roller coaster ride of emotions where you will cry, will laugh, and you will be angry. If you are like me you can feel all of these emotions like this is happening to you. This is due to the amazing author. So, would I recommend this series? You bet I would. Just like every other series that I have read by Michelle A. Valentine.
