Author Interviews!

Welcome To Night and Day Book Blog's very first Duck, Duck, Goose Interview.
We each ask Authors 2 Book related questions (duck) and then one Question about Anything we want (goose). The catch is that Each of us on the blog also have to answer the 'Goose' questions.
So here goes....

Interview with Mariah Dietz.

Hi Mariah,

First, Please Tell us a little about your books..

The His Series is a story about first love, family, adventure, and the path of finding oneself. It's about life.

Gail

Duck. What inspires you when writing?

A myriad of things inspire me. Sometimes it's a strange dream. Sometimes it's a personal experience. But, most of it is just my imagination and what "could be." I have always been a people watcher. I will sometimes see an expression, or response, and it will lead me to an elaborate scene.

Duck, How do you decide what you want to write about?

I write about messages that I think are important for people to know and remember. Sometimes that's something as simple as to laugh. Other times, the message is much more emotional.

GOOSE.. Are you married? If so how long?

Mariah:  I've been married for eight years :)
Gail's Answer: Yes I married.. Been so for 12 yrs

Lisa: Yes i've been married for 12 years this year,

Stephanie: Yes almost 20 years

Marialee: I have been married going on 12 years in July.

Stephanie

Duck. Who has influenced you most in writing?

Gayle Forman, JK Rowling, John Green, and Colleen Hoover.

Duck. What's your routine for writing do you have superstition things you have to do or think

 it will jinks you?

I don't have a set routine for when I write. I tend to write a lot of dialogue out first

because I live with my characters in my head for several weeks or months before I

start writing the content. While I "live with them," I learn about their personalities and

how they interact with one another. Occasionally, the dialogue will bring to life a

scene, and as the characters become more defined, I see more and more scenes and

start writing them all out. Then I piece them all together.

GOOSE.. What's the craziest thing you have ever done?

Mariah:  I went to Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany on a whim.

Stephanie's Answer: Mine was deciding it would be cool to wax my legs

Lisa: Got Married!!!

Gail: Went zip lining in the Dominican

Marialee: When i was in high school my friends and I would always have sleep overs at each others houses (there would be like 10 of us) and a couple of times we went streaking. the real funny thing is one of the girls lives in town. Good thing it was a small town.

Lisa

Duck. Who is your favourite character in your books, and Why?

I don't honestly think I can pick a single one! This is so hard! Probably Jameson. Or

Wes. Maybe Max? But I love Ace as a sister. o.O They're all real to me!!

Duck. Do any of the situations or events that happen in Becoming His and Losing Her

relate to things that have happened in your life?

No. I think people are always surprised to learn that I don't have any sisters and grew

up in the woods, where I had no neighbors.

GOOSE.. Did you have any Nicknames when growing up? Explain how it came

    about...

Mariah:  My nickname growing up was Mya, but there's no story of behind it.

Ironically, my parents named me Mariah with the intention that it isn't a name you

can nickname. Ha!

Lisa's Answer: I had a few, the main one is Flopout! I was 14 and at a swimming pool

with friends, we were playing volleyball in the pool. And I jumped to get the ball

and.....Yeah one of my Girls flopped out!! :-/ I was so embarrassed and my name after

that was Flopout!!

Stephanie: Steffy-Jo

Marialee: My nickname from my friends in elementary was "Flea" because I was so

small.

Gail: abbydo. How I got that I have no clue.. Mom started calling me it..

Marialee

Duck. What made you pick the location that the story takes place in? Is it somewhere you

have always wanted to go or is there a certain inspiration there that drew you to using the

area?

My husband is from the area, so I am really familiar with it from visiting.

Duck. How old were you when you first got the idea to start writing? Was it something that

you did as a little girl and then it grew from there as you got older?

I have been writing for as long as I can remember. It's something that I have always

loved.

GOOSE.. If you could have any type of a book boyfriend on real life what would it be?

Rocker, Billionaire, average Joe, etc?

A combination of Adam Wilder and Will Cooper. So I guess a little of the rocker with a

lot of Average Joe--the sweet, sincere, smart, yet masculine type ... sigh.

Marialee's answer: Rocker. LOVE rocker books

Stephanie: Me I would choose a mixture of all bookwhore

Lisa: What she said^^^

Gail: Book BF... ️MC guy... Those are my FAVE!! So he would have to be in a ️MC or something

Is there anything you would like to say to your readers and Likers of Night and Day Book

 Blog?

Thank you!! It's still a little crazy to know that I've published two books! And a little

more crazy that people are reading them! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for

all of the love and support. It still shocks me each and every time I see someone

mention my book, or name. I am so grateful for all of you!

And Please tell us a little about you...

I have loved books since before I could read their words. I think writing them, was

always in the stars for me. There's something about it that makes me feel complete.

Aside from my literary loves, I love dark chocolate, French roast coffee, socks,

baking, Charlie Hunnam, and my family.
